The Role
In this role, the successful applicant will be expected to supervise the daily operations of the library, including providing reference, information, and associated services to students and teaching staff. This role includes administering library systems to ensure accurate records through cataloguing, archiving, and updating descriptor notes. while also processing resources to guarantee their constant availability to the school community.
The successful applicant will ideally be a customer-focused individual, offering advice and training on library skills, equipment, computers, audio-visual resources, and the internet. Furthermore, the role encompasses resource management throughout the school including preparing and monitoring the library budget, making purchase recommendations, and designing relevant displays.
Administrative and supervisory duties are also essential, such as coordinating library visit rosters, supervising subordinate library staff or volunteers, and providing general administrative support to the front office, including preparing communications, and managing databases.
The successful applicant will also supervise small groups of students outside lesson times or in class learning activities relating to the library.
