Warwick Senior High School (SHS) is an Independent Public School located in the northern suburbs of Perth. Ideally situated, it is a school with a strong tradition of academic excellence. The school provides a mix of traditional and innovative programs. It offers courses leading to tertiary studies, TAFE traineeships and apprenticeships and the workplace. Warwick's specialist programs include Department of Education Approved Netball and Australian Rules Football, school based Academic Excellence, Dance Elite and Music, as well as a number of vocational education and training (VET) certificates.

The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail focused Laboratory Technicians to join our community.

Some of the tasks involved may include but are not limited to, preparation of chemicals, equipment and materials, design and construction of teaching aids. In-addition to this, as Laboratory Technicians, you would manage laboratory stocks, including ordering of supplies and equipment, liaison with suppliers, and completion of annual stock-takes, complying with Departmental guidelines. There may also be other tasks deemed appropriate by your line manager.

The successful applicant should have experience working within a science laboratory and knowledge of science subjects relevant to the curriculum taught in secondary schools. Well-developed computer skills and knowledge of databases is advantageous. The successful applicant should be willing to work on Thursday and Friday.

    • Demonstrated experience working within a science laboratory, including knowledge of laboratory techniques and relevant safety and legislative requirements.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of science subjects relevant to the curriculum taught in secondary schools and the ability to design and construct experiments and equipment to support curriculum requirements.
    • Demonstrated good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Demonstrated organisational and time management skills and ability to work independently.
    • Demonstrated well developed keyboarding and computer skills including a working knowledge of databases, spreadsheets and word processing.
