Role Description/Criteria

The position is 4 days a week (0.80 FTE) being Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Beginning date is Monday the 20th of April (Day 1 Term 2) through to the 25-1-2027. Success in the role will translate to potential contract or ongoing extension.

The successful applicant will work closely with classroom teachers and school leadership to identify students requiring intervention and deliver evidence-based programs that support student progress, confidence, and engagement. Inevitably, from time to time, the successful applicant will need to demonstrate understanding and flexibility and be prepared to cover classes if required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted literacy and numeracy intervention for primary students through small-group and individual instruction
  • Use assessment data to identify student learning needs and monitor progress
  • Plan and deliver structured intervention programs aligned with the curriculum
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to support differentiated learning strategies
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate outcomes with staff and families
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports student wellbeing

Key Selection Criteria

  • Qualified primary teacher with current teacher VIT registration
  • Demonstrated ability to support students requiring additional learning support
  • Knowledge of, and willingness to learn and implement, evidence-based literacy and numeracy intervention strategies
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to analyse assessment data and adapt teaching practices accordingly
  • Commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing
