Salary Range: $82,796 to $136,848 plus superannuation. Salary is determined based on years of teaching service.

Employment Status: Full-time

Eligibility: Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident

St John Paul II College (JPC) is a Catholic, co-educational secondary school serving families in the north of Canberra. About the Role

The Humanities and Social Science Teacher will engage students in exploring history, geography, civics, and culture to deepen their understanding of the world and their place within it. You will design and deliver rich learning experiences that foster curiosity, critical thinking, and informed citizenship. You’ll play a key role in shaping students’ ability to analyse complex issues, appreciate diverse perspectives, and connect past events to contemporary challenges. Join a passionate and collaborative faculty that values creativity, academic rigour, and professional growth. Working within a supportive school culture, you will contribute to curriculum design, assessment, and whole-school initiatives that inspire a lifelong interest in the humanities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Teaching or Master of Teaching
  • ACT Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration
  • ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) registration
