About the Role
As Head of Department (Curriculum), you will provide strategic leadership for curriculum, teaching and learning aligned with departmental priorities and Silkstone State School's improvement agenda. You will work collaboratively to strengthen teacher practice, enhance student outcomes and foster a culture of professional growth, collective efficacy and belonging.

Your responsibilities
- Leading the whole-school approach to reading aligned with the Queensland Reading Position Statement and evidence-informed, explicit teaching practices
- Collaboratively developing, embedding and quality-assuring the three levels of planning and assessment across the school
- Building staff capability through coaching, mentoring and professional learning aligned to school priorities
- Supporting consistent, inclusive and socially just practices that promote belonging and engagement for every student
- Leading and chairing meetings relevant to curriculum, teaching improvement and school priorities
- Working in partnership with staff, students and the wider community to strengthen teaching, learning and wellbeing outcomes
