About Us

Rosebank College has a proud and varied history of over 150 years as part of the Good Samaritan family established in 1857, and belonging to the Benedictine spiritual and educational tradition founded by St Benedict in the 4th century. The College belongs to the community of ten schools across Australia called Good Samaritan Education (GSE). About the Role

A school of Good Samaritan Education, Rosebank College is seeking an experienced and strategic Facilities Manager to provide leadership across the College's facilities, buildings, grounds, infrastructure and property services.

Reporting to the Principal through the Dean of Finance, the Facilities Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, operational management and continuous improvement of the College's physical environment. The role leads the Facilities team while managing contractors, consultants and specialist service providers to ensure the campus remains safe, compliant, sustainable and fit for purpose.

A significant focus of this position is the leadership and delivery of capital works and facilities projects, including major refurbishments, planned maintenance programs and the College's Stage 3 Development Project scheduled for 2027. Working closely with College leadership, external consultants and governing bodies, the Facilities Manager will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest professional standards.

This is a 48-week-per-year position. Professional flexibility is required, including availability during school holiday periods and outside normal business hours to support major projects, critical maintenance activities and College events.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Facilities and Project Management

• Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of facilities projects, including refurbishments and capital works.
• Support the successful delivery of the College's Stage 3 Development Project.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, timelines, procurement plans and risk assessments.
• Monitor project delivery, expenditure, quality, compliance and reporting.
• Contribute to long-term facilities planning, asset lifecycle management and future campus development.

Operational Leadership

• Lead the day-to-day management of the College's facilities, buildings, grounds and infrastructure.
• Ensure the campus remains safe, functional, attractive and supportive of teaching and learning.
• Manage facilities budgets, procurement processes and contractor performance.
• Maintain accurate asset registers, maintenance schedules and compliance documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and service delivery.

Leadership and Team Management

• Provide strong leadership, mentoring and professional support to the Facilities team.
• Foster a collaborative, accountable and customer-focused team culture.
• Manage team performance, workload planning and professional development.
• Lead and supervise contractors, consultants and external service providers.

Compliance, Risk and Safety

• Ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety legislation, building codes, fire safety requirements and statutory obligations.
• Lead risk management processes relating to facilities and infrastructure.
• Contribute to emergency management planning and business continuity initiatives.
• Promote a proactive safety culture across the College.

About You

You are an experienced Facilities Manager with a proven ability to lead operational teams, manage complex facilities projects and deliver high-quality outcomes in a dynamic environment.

You demonstrate sound commercial judgment, exceptional organisational skills and a collaborative leadership style. You are committed to creating safe, sustainable and efficient learning environments while building positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

• A minimum of five years' experience in facilities, property or infrastructure management.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Facilities Management, Building, Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline (desirable).
• Demonstrated success delivering complex capital works and facilities projects on time and within budget.
• Proven leadership experience managing teams, contractors and external service providers.
• Experience within an independent school, secondary school or comparable educational or institutional environment (highly desirable).
• Strong knowledge of Work Health and Safety legislation, compliance and risk management.
• Sound understanding of building services, maintenance systems and asset management principles.
• Excellent organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• A current Driver License.
• A current Working with Children Check, or the ability to obtain one prior to commencement.
• A demonstrated commitment to child safeguarding and the mission and values of Catholic education.
