Join our dedicated team as the Executive Assistant at our respected all-boys secondary school in Townsville. In this pivotal role, you’ll be the trusted right hand to the Principal — managing key communications, coordinating school operations, and helping bring the school’s vision to life.
- Permanent, full time role (38 hours per week)

- School Officer Level 5 classification - $78,204 - $82,008 + superannuation

As the Executive Assistant, you’ll be at the heart of our organisation - providing vital, confidential support to the Principal and Deputy Principal. This is a key role for someone who brings exceptional professionalism, sound judgement, and integrity to every task. You’ll play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth and effective operation of our executive office, making a real impact every day.
About the contract
This is a permanent, full-time position (38 hours per week), with the flexibility to work either year-round or on a term-time basis (45 weeks per year), depending on the successful applicant’s preference.
About you
To be considered for this role you will need:
- Valid working rights within Australia.
- Be committed to the goals, ethos and mission of the College as a Catholic school in the Edmund Rice Tradition.
- Possess a current Queensland Working with Children Blue Card for paid employees before commencement as per the No Card, No Start policy developed by Queensland Government.
- Qualifications in Business Administration (desirable).
- Extensive experience delivering high level administrative support as an Executive Assistant within a large organisation. (Experience in school of educational setting is desirable).
- Ability to be flexible, embrace and adapt to change and be responsive to the needs of the Principal and other members of the College Leadership Team and the college community.
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to interact positively with a wide range of stakeholders including students, staff, and the wider community.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to develop solutions to problems.
- Demonstrated organisational and time management skills, and the ability to use initiative and work autonomously to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Information Technology Systems and the Microsoft Suite of applications (eg: Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams, Sharepoint and One Drive). (Experience with TASS is desirable).
- Proven ability to model the highest standard of ethical and professional behaviour and act with integrity and confidentiality.
- Willingness to work outside of normal rostered hours if required.
