English & EAL/D Teacher (Active)

Marrickville High School is a proud comprehensive high school located in Sydney's Inner West that is diverse and inclusive, serving approximately 700 students from Years 7 to 12. Our community reflects a rich multicultural demographic and a broad range of learning needs, including students supported through our Intensive English Centre (IEC) and 5-class Support Unit. We have an active and highly supportive P&C and our expert and energetic university-trained teaching staff of approximately 65, supported by our non-teaching staff, provide an environment that nurtures holistic development and meets every student at their point of need.

Position information:

The position will include an English teaching load including some Stage 6 English and EAL/D in-class support and withdrawal. The successful candidate will work with classroom teachers to support EAL/D students in a range of subject areas. The position may also require the development of the EAL/D support timetable in collaboration with the Head Teacher.

Position Criteria:

• Approval to teach and demonstrated experience in teaching English and EAL/D
• Demonstrated ability to meet the needs of a range of students including EAL/D and HPGE
• Capacity to work as part of a collaborative faculty
