Education Assistant - Mainstream
We are seeking to establish a pool of Mainstream Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role
As a Mainstream Education Assistant, the suitable applicants would assist in the delivery of planned education programs that will help in the development of young minds, whilst collaborating and working in a team environment. Suitable applicants should possess good written, oral and interpersonal communication skills to enable the implementation of individual or small group programs, as well as the ability to support the general health and well-being of students. You will ideally be organised and be able to use your initiative to assist with the preparation and maintenance of the learning environment.
The suitable applicants would work under teacher direction in a diverse role. We are looking for applicants who can display a good understanding and application of poverty and trauma informed practice, with a clear understanding of the importance of whole school policies, programs and strategies. Ideally applicants would be able to demonstrate cultural awareness to inform their practice in providing an inclusive learning environment for Aboriginal and English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EAL/D) students.
Additionally, they would also provide support to ensure the learning environment is inclusive and relevant with the health and safety of students being a high priority. The suitable applicants should also be able to display the ability to manage complex and challenging student behaviour in accordance with school policies and programs.
We are seeking for applicants who are ideally well organised and able to use initiative to assist with the preparation and maintenance of the learning environment by maintaining equipment, materials and resources, for use in classes. Additionally, they would assist with displays and with cleaning and safe storage of items after classes and activities
