The Role

Eaton CC is seeking a dedicated and highly relational Deputy Principal who is committed to building trust, fostering strong relationships, and ensuring outstanding educational outcomes for all students.

Working in close partnership with the Principal and Executive Team, the Deputy Principal will model and promote the college’s vision and values, while leading collaboratively to deliver school priorities and drive continuous improvement. The successful applicant will ideally have a proven ability to create an environment where staff, students, and the wider community feel valued, supported, and connected.

We are seeking a leader who can think and plan strategically, and who works collaboratively to develop innovative and practical solutions. We higly value applicants with strong interpersonal and communication skills, to build trust, strengthen partnerships, and cultivate a positive and inclusive school culture.

The successful applicant should also display a commitment to growth both personally and professionally and the ability to develop the capacity of others. They would apply effective change management strategies, encourage reflective practice, and use evidence and data to guide decision-making. Applicants with experience across key leadership and management areas including whole-school teaching and learning, timetabling, senior school requirements, Vocational Education and Training (VET), and cohort oversight will be highly regarded.

Teachers and School Administrators employed at Eaton Community College in 2026 are eligible to receive a temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $2 000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.

The temporary ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.

Eligibility

  • be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.

  • obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start; and
  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
