As a Coach at Mango Hill State Secondary College, you will be a pivotal figure dedicated to fostering the behaviour and wellbeing of our students within their designated year groups. Our Coaches work in close partnership with relevant Heads of Department from the Junior, Middle, or Senior Schooling Phases, as well as with the Deputy Principal responsible for their specific year group.
Demonstrating a vital commitment, as a Coach you will play an indispensable role in upholding the College's culture of high expectations. Their efforts focus on guiding students to embody the values of Respect, Engagement, Aspiration, and Learning (REAL), nurturing personal responsibility, cultivating academic enthusiasm, enhancing positive relationships, and supporting each student on their journey to reaching their full potential.
The role is characterised by a proactive, data-informed, and relational approach, with key responsibilities including pastoral care and wellbeing, effective communication with parents, supporting students' social and emotional development, overseeing attendance and uniform compliance, addressing bullying, conducting behaviour investigation and implementing positive rewards and intervention initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead strategies to maximise student achievement and support school and departmental initiatives
- Improve student outcomes by modelling quality teaching and learning programs
- Build leadership capacity by offering professional development and promoting evidence-based communities of practice
- Develop teacher capability through needs-based ongoing support
- Enhance the capacity of school teams in analysing and responding to systemic and student data
- Support the school leadership team in delivering professional development related to enhancing student outcomes
- Provide leadership and support to key personnel, administration, teachers, and teacher aides in addressing program issues and ensuring the learning needs of all students are met
- Foster professional relationships with networks and coalitions
The Ideal Candidates will have:
- The capacity to understand and address the emotional and social needs of students, providing support and guidance
- Experience in implementing strategies to manage and improve student behaviour, ensuring a positive learning environment
- A holistic approach to promoting the overall development of students, including their social, emotional, and moral growth
- The ability to lead and support school initiatives that aim to improve student achievement and overall school performance
