Your Opportunity
As an Inclusion Coach, you will have a strong background in inclusive education and a passion for supporting teachers to effectively meet the needs of students with a disability. The role focuses on coaching and mentoring staff to implement inclusive classroom practices, differentiation and reasonable adjustments that support students with disability, complex needs and varied learning profiles to access the curriculum and achieve success.
You will have responsibility for leading the following activities and delivery of the following key tasks:
- Lead inclusive teaching practice across the college by coaching and mentoring teachers to effectively support diverse learners, including students with disability, trauma backgrounds and complex needs
- Support differentiation and reasonable adjustments in classrooms, ensuring teaching practices align with the Australian Curriculum and NCCD requirements
- Model evidence-based inclusive and trauma-aware strategies, including regulation and co-regulation approaches that improve student engagement and wellbeing
- Coordinate case management for junior diversity students (Years 7-9), working with Heads of Year and Deputy Principals to ensure coordinated supports for students with significant disability
- Lead data-informed planning and intervention, monitoring student progress across attendance, behaviour, wellbeing and academic achievement to guide targeted support
- Oversee targeted intervention programs, including literacy supports such as MacqLit and small group or individual interventions for students requiring additional support
- Work collaboratively with families, support staff and external providers to coordinate effective support for students and strengthen home-school partnerships
- Lead key transition and planning processes, including Year 6-7 transition for students with disability and planning conversations that support successful movement into the senior phase of learning
