The Primary Care and Community Health Unit consists of 9 centres that provide a range of services for children, young people and their families, adults, older people and their carers. Our services range from health promotion, prevention and early detection through to assessment, treatment and continuing care. Our staff work in partnership with schools, GPs, hospitals, non-government agencies and other organisations to provide care across our centres, in people’s homes, other community venues as well as virtual care (telehealth).
An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated and experienced Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) to join the team at Hawkesbury Community Health Care on a part-time permanent basis.
The NBMLHD Nursing and Midwifery Workforce is committed to providing safe, compassionate, person centred health care in collaboration with patients, families, carers and multidisciplinary teams. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting this vision through high quality education and professional development for nursing staff.
The Clinical Nurse Educator, in consultation with key nursing leaders, will deliver and coordinate education, clinical teaching, skills accreditation and professional development to support evidence based, high quality nursing practice across Community Health Care services.

What you will bring to the role
- Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) and relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications, or such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate by the employer.
- Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes that align with NSW Health's organisation's CORE values of; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment, when interacting with staff, clients, consumers, and carers.
- Demonstrated ability to design, implement and evaluate clinical education at the team level, and provide support and guidance to ensure an appropriately skilled and qualified nursing and midwifery workforce, working within appropriate models of care.
- Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous quality improvement and the maintenance of a learning environment that values and encourages learning and reflective practice.
- Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills, including negotiation, feedback and conflict resolution.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate, support and engage people in the clinical setting and work professionally in a multidisciplinary team.
- Evidence of computer literacy and experience using Microsoft Office Suite and record management systems.
- Current valid NSW Drivers Licence and willingness to use for work purposes, this may include driving long distances across the LHD.
