Opportunities to build a school from the ground up come around once in a career. We are seeking a visionary Assistant Principal to stand alongside our Foundation Principal in launching our brand new K-6 school community.

ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL ROLE

Commencing Term 1, 2027

The role of the Assistant Principal is to provide support to the Principal and school community. This includes support in implementing evidence-informed pedagogy, focusing on staff and student wellbeing, and through administrative and compliance tasks. The Assistant Principal is a leadership role within the school and provides support in learning and managing the school as an authentic Catholic education community. This includes responsibility, under the direction of the Principal, for the religious and education leadership of the school. The Assistant Principal provides leadership, with the Principal, for the effective care and education of the students in their spiritual, social, academic and personal development.

To successfully lay these foundations, you will need to be an agile and experienced middle leader. In our first phase, you will champion teaching excellence as the Leader of Pedagogy, support all students as our Additional Needs Teacher and stay grounded in the classroom with one day of teaching per week.

As our school grows, this initial structure will naturally evolve. Further staff will step into middle leadership positions as the school expands, giving you the perfect platform to scale your strategic impact as Assistant Principal and guide the future direction of St Carlo’s.
