Administration Assistant

This is a permanent full-time position commencing ASAP

Statewide Services provides the services and supports required by schools to enable student achievement, with a focus on those students and schools that need it most. It encompasses both school and system-facing service delivery. While it primarily exists to support schools, it also has an important system-facing role supporting strategy and policy development.

The leadership Institute as part of Statewide Services provides support to current and aspiring leaders through a range of initiatives and provides high quality innovative and evidence-based professional learning programs.

About You

You thrive in a collaborative team environment. You want to use your skills to the best of your ability everyday – by having a great eye for detail you enjoy helping others to produce the best leadership development experience for education leaders all over the state.

Your writing and editing skills mean you enjoy preparation and delivery of important documents and travel arrangements. You succeed with efficient systems designed to follow up on actions. You get a sense of achievement by supporting the team to maintain vital records relating to projects, initiatives, committees and other activities.

You also have great expertise when it comes to payment of accounts, credit card reconciliation, monitoring expenditure and preparation of reports.

Eligibility

To work with us, you must:

  • be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.

  1. Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office suite in clerical and general administrative duties, including advanced word processing skills and proficiency with spreadsheets and databases and experience using an electronic records management system.
  2. Demonstrated good written, oral communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of individuals and provide customer-focused services.
  3. Demonstrated experience in purchasing, processing accounts for payment and monitoring expenditure for a work unit.
  4. Demonstrated initiative and good organisational skills with the ability to meet competing priorities in a fast-paced business environment.
