Faith Lutheran College is seeking a passionate, innovative and student-centred educator to join our Middle School team as a Year 7 Core Teacher. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic and collaborative Year 7 program that supports students as they transition into secondary schooling through engaging, inquiry-based learning experiences.
Our Year 7 team operates within a purpose-built Middle School environment, working collaboratively to deliver an innovative inquiry-based curriculum that supports students to thrive academically, socially and emotionally. Since the introduction of Year 7 to the Middle and Senior School, Faith Lutheran College has developed a highly successful middle years program focused on strong relationships, student wellbeing, collaboration and academic growth.
The Position
As a Year 7 Core Teacher, you will:
- Teach a range of Year 7 core curriculum subjects within a collaborative teaching team.
- Design and deliver engaging, inquiry-based learning experiences that promote curiosity, critical thinking and student growth.
- Work closely with colleagues to plan, implement and evaluate curriculum and assessment practices.
- Foster positive relationships with students, families and staff to support academic achievement and wellbeing.
- Create inclusive learning environments that cater for diverse student needs and encourage every learner to flourish.
- Contribute to the College's pastoral care, co-curricular and wellbeing programs.
- Utilise contemporary teaching practices and digital technologies to enhance learning outcomes.
- Actively participate in the broader life of the College and support its Christian ethos.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Hold relevant teaching qualifications and current registration with the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia.
- Be an outstanding classroom practitioner with a passion for teaching middle years students.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of contemporary teaching and learning practices.
- Have experience, or a willingness to develop expertise, in inquiry-based learning approaches.
- Possess excellent communication, organisation and relationship-building skills.
- Be a collaborative team member who values innovation, reflection and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the values and ethos of Faith Lutheran College and Lutheran Education Australia.
