Ranges TEC is seeking a passionate and committed VCE VM Teacher to join our team commencing Term 2 or Term 3, 2026. This ongoing position is offered at 0.60–0.80 FTE, with the potential for full-time employment for the right candidate. The role is based at our vibrant Christian vocational training campus in Melbourne’s outer east, where we are dedicated to nurturing purposeful pathways and authentic learning experiences for our students.

As a VCE VM Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting senior secondary students undertaking the Victorian Certificate of Education – Vocational Major (VCE VM). You will design and deliver engaging, practical learning experiences that help students develop foundational knowledge, personal character, and readiness for work and life.

Your teaching will integrate strong pedagogical practice with genuine Christian care, encouraging students to discover their God-given gifts and grow in wisdom, purpose and resilience.

Ranges TEC is a specialist vocational training campus of Mount Evelyn Christian School (MECS), offering a unique Christian approach to education for students in Years 10–12. We provide a range of vocational programs, including pre-apprenticeship qualifications as part of the Victorian Certificate of Education – Vocational Major (VCE VM).

The Role

As a VCE VM Teacher, you will contribute to the delivery of a school-based curriculum that integrates Christian worldview, practical learning, and authentic student development. You will implement purposeful teaching strategies, collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum, and play an active part in the wider life of the school community.

Your work will include teaching, pastoral care, curriculum documentation, assessment, and active engagement in professional and spiritual development as part of MECS/Ranges TEC’s commitment to Christian education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach and assess VCE VM subjects in accordance with VCAA guidelines and Ranges TEC curriculum expectations.
  • Develop engaging, relevant learning programs that support student growth in knowledge, skills and character.
  • Create a supportive, relational and well-managed classroom environment that allows students to question, grow and flourish.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students and communicate effectively with parents and guardians.
  • Participate in curriculum development, documentation and continuous improvement as part of the school’s commitment to school-based curriculum design.
  • Engage in the spiritual and professional life of the school community, including staff devotions, meetings, professional learning and collaborative planning.
  • Maintain accurate records, comply with assessment and reporting requirements, and uphold MECS/RT policies and standards.
  • Support the welfare and wellbeing of students as part of Ranges TEC’s pastoral care model.

Key Selection Criteria

  • A practising Christian with a commitment to the Ranges TEC Statement of Beliefs and the integration of faith and learning.
  • Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the VCE VM curriculum and experience teaching or supporting senior secondary students.
  • Proven ability to engage students through relational, practical and meaningful teaching.
  • Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development, reflective practice and participation in MECS/Ranges TEC’s collaborative learning culture.
  • Alignment with the mission, vision and values of Ranges TEC and the wider Christian education community.
