Temporary School Business Manager

Secondary School | Near Cheetham Hill, Manchester Potential Temp-to-Perm Opportunity

We are currently working with a secondary school near Cheetham Hill, Manchester, who are seeking an experienced School Business Manager to join their team on a temporary basis, with the strong potential for the role to become permanent for the right candidate.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and organised professional with proven management experience within a school administration setting to support the strategic and operational running of the school.

Role Details

• Hours: 37 hours per week
• Working Pattern: Monday to Friday
• Contract: Temporary (with potential temp-to-perm)
• Holiday Entitlement: 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily management of the school's administrative and support functions
• Manage and support administrative staff, ensuring effective workflows and high standards
• Lead on finance, budgeting, and resource management in line with school policies
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, and statutory requirements
• Work closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team to support school operations
• Maintain effective systems for HR, premises, and procurement

Person Specification

The successful candidate will:

• Have strong management experience within a school-based administration environment
• Demonstrate excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills
• Be confident managing budgets, systems, and staff teams
• Have a proactive, solution-focused approach and the ability to work independently
• Ideally have previous experience within a secondary school setting

This role would suit an experienced School Business Manager or Senior Administrator looking for a new challenge, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position in a supportive secondary school setting.
