About this job

Position Information

Chifley College Bidwill Campus is a comprehensive 7–12 school in Mount Druitt, located on Darug land. Sharing a site with Bidwill Public School, we operate as a Pre-school to Year 12 campus, working collaboratively to meet the needs of the Bidwill and Mount Druitt communities. With an enrolment of 710 students, our school reflects the rich diversity of the community, including 25% Aboriginal students, 36% Pasifika (Samoan, Tongan, Cook Islands, Māori), and growing Afghan, Sudanese and Indian populations. As a Choice Theory school, we apply the principles of William Glasser and Marvin Marshall to support students to self-regulate behaviour and engagement. Our culture of care, compassion and innovation ensures a holistic approach, with high expectations built through strong partnerships with students, staff, families and community. We host a substantial support unit of up to 104 students across IM and MC classes. Our Teaching and Learning team provides targeted support for students with disability, EAL/D and disadvantage through flexible funding, ensuring equitable access to learning. Strong community partnerships underpin our work, connecting students and families with health services, cultural organisations, industry, universities and TAFE. Our School Excellence Plan prioritises evidence-informed pedagogy, explicit teaching and the conditions for effective learning. Through collaborative, community-informed practice, we have strengthened belonging and cultural safety, resulting in increased enrolment, improved attendance, stronger retention to the HSC and enhanced academic outcomes over the past five years.
