You are eligible to be appointed as a graduate school psychologist in Western Australian public schools, if you:
- hold (or are eligible for) provisional registration with the Psychology Board of Australia; and
- have worked for less than two years (or not at all) in a school psychologist role.
As a graduate school psychologist, you will have access to:
- Psychology Board of Australia approved supervision to support the completion of your internship program.
- School Psychologist Induction Program, a two-year program of professional learning.

- a comprehensive, up-to-date CV;
- identification (i.e. birth certificate, passport, change of name documentation – marriage certificate). Please note we do not accept driver’s licences.

- evidence of your current registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
- final academic transcripts identifying your course of study, including copies of undergraduate degrees and any postgraduate qualifications (if applicable).
You will also be asked to provide details of two professional referees – one of which should be your current or most recent line manager where possible.
The selection process
Your application will be considered in two stages.
Stage 1: eligibility check
In stage 1, we will confirm your identity, eligibility to work in Australia, qualifications, Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
Stage 2: suitability assessment
Lead school psychologists and/or principals may contact you in relation to graduate school psychologist opportunities in their regional/school, as they arise. They may review your application, invite you to attend an interview, contact your referees.
Where you are offered a contract of employment, this is subject to you meeting eligibility requirements prior to commencing employment. These include a satisfactory Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check, a valid Working with Children Check, holding provisional registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
