Position Information
Gledswood Hills High School is the new high school supporting the communities of Gregory Hills and Gledswood Hills with a current enrolment of 88 students. Gregory Hills Public School and Gledswood Hills Public School are the local feeder schools. The school is located in the South Western Sydney growth corridor which has seen exponential growth of residential housing over the past ten years.
The school opened on a pop-up site at the commencement of Term 1, 2025 for Year 7 students only. This site is located on the grounds of Gregory Hills Public School. In 2026, the school will cater for Year 7 and 8 students on the pop-up site. The new permanent school build is expected to be operational from Term 1, 2027.
This role is for the position of Teacher Librarian. The successful applicant will be responsible for establishing the library as a pivotal resource and learning hub, both on the temporary site and at the permanent site from 2027.
Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach Library (Secondary) or currently enrolled in Library (Secondary) qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education.
- Capacity to implement a creative and flexible approach to managing the establishment of a new school library that functions as a learning hub, and which supports resource management, connection to the school and critical thinking.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with teachers across all subject areas, to enhance a range of whole school and enrichment priorities.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

Applicants are to include details of their WWCC clearance number as part of this application.
If applicable, engagement will be temporary until successful completion of the Teacher Librarian qualifications as recognised by the NSW Department of Education, which must be completed within 24 months.
