Position Information

Blaxcell Street Public School provides a rich and robust curriculum which is delivered in a supportive and caring environment. The school has over 900 students enrolled, of which 95% are from language backgrounds other than English. At Blaxcell Street Public School, every student must achieve success. Blaxcell Street Public School is allocated equity funds to meet the additional needs of students from low socio-economic status backgrounds, students who have learning and support needs and students learning English as an additional language or dialect.

Specific Selection Criteria

• Approval to teach K-6. Approval to teach students with learning and support needs (primary) and/or demonstrated experience or a willingness to teach students with learning and support needs (primary) in mainstream classes.
• Capacity to provide specialist assistance to students in regular classes with additional learning and support needs. 
• Demonstrated capacity to work alongside teachers to evaluate students’ progress and utilise data to plan, implement and evaluate effective personalised learning and support plans that reflect academic, social, emotional and behavioural needs and aspirations of the students.
• Demonstrated capacity to develop positive relationships and establish effective partnerships with families, community, support agencies and colleagues to achieve improved outcomes for students.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
