The Role

We are actively seeking K to 6 teachers with exceptional interpersonal skills, displaying a natural ability to communicate effectively and foster genuine relationships with parents, students, and colleagues. As a K to 6 teacher you should promptly establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment, setting high expectations and cultivating a growth mindset, while nurturing students' social and emotional development. Sorrento is a ‘PBS’ school and values fostering a positive and safe school environment.

Ideally suitable applicants will exhibit exemplary teaching skills, with a strong motivation to excel, and a commitment to delivering best practices. They should also ideally have the capacity to excel in an environment characterised by whole-school connected practice, collaborative team structures, coaching and mentoring and a commitment to ongoing professional growth.

As a member of our team, you would leverage high-impact teaching strategies and showcase experience in designing and delivering engaging literacy and numeracy programs. Suitable applicants should have a strong understanding and experience with the use of ongoing formative assessment to provide feedback to students and plan for teaching and learning and differentiating the curriculum to meet diverse student needs. Proficiency in ICT and digital technologies for class instruction and for communication is highly valued.

• consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
