The Role
Suitable applicants will ideally be highly skilled in the planning, delivery and assessment of Explicit Instruction, particularly in literacy. Castletown PS places a strong emphasis on teaching practices that are clear, structured, and evidence-based. Teachers are encouraged to implement these approaches consistently to support the learning of all students.
Our school also delivers the Top 10 Maths program, providing students with a rich, hands-on approach to learning mathematical concepts. Suitable applicants should have a capacity to make mathematics learning engaging, accessible, and concrete through this structured program.
Teachers at Castletown PS are encouraged to cater effectively to the diverse learning needs of students, including those with additional needs and complex behaviours, through the use of differentiation, strong routines, and strategies that promote high levels of student engagement. With a strong commitment to Visible Learning, our staff aim to ensure students understand their learning goals, receive timely and constructive feedback, and take ownership of their progress.
As a K-6 Teacher at Castletown PS, you will be invited to work collaboratively with colleagues in planning and delivering high-impact instruction. Ideally, you will bring the ability to use student data to inform your teaching and provide targeted support where needed.
