The Role

Churchlands SHS is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Humanities and Social Science teacher with a specialisation in ATAR Modern History.

The successful applicant will ideally have the capacity to create a safe, inclusive learning environment and be highly collaborative and reflective. They should be able to promote, design and deliver engaging lessons which support students with different needs to grow in confidence and capacity. Recent experience in the delivery of ATAR Modern History in Years 11 and 12 is highly desirable.

As a reflective practitioner, the successful applicant should display an enthusiasm for taking up professional learning opportunities to maximise student engagement, build a common language and promote teacher reflection. They will ideally use a range of formative assessment strategies, engage in moderation and marking processes, provide effective, timely feedback to students and use data to evaluate and improve the impact of their teaching. They will ideally have the capacity to initiate and maintain respectful and caring relationships with students, colleagues and the wider school community.
