Position Information

Melonba High School is a new and rapidly growing comprehensive secondary school located in the suburb of Melonba, near Marsden Park. The school opened in 2024 with Year 7 and 8 and has expanded to include Years 7–10 in 2026, with a current enrolment of approximately 1100 students. The school will continue to grow, introducing Year 11 in 2027 and Year 12 in 2028, with an anticipated capacity of 2000 students upon completion.

Melonba High School is designed to deliver an innovative, future-focused educational model. The school features agile learning spaces that support flexible and collaborative teaching practices, alongside a strong emphasis on student wellbeing. Teaching and learning at Melonba High School is driven by explicit teaching practices, underpinned by clear Learning Intentions and Success Criteria, ongoing formative assessment, and targeted differentiation to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.

Specific Selection Criteria

• Approval to teach English 7–12 and English Extension 1 & 2, with knowledge of curriculum, assessment and reporting requirements.
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively within the English faculty to contribute to school and faculty priorities.
• Capacity to design and deliver high-quality teaching and learning programs and effective assessment that support student growth across diverse learners from Stage 4-6.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
