The Opportunity

Collaborative and enthusiastic individuals, strongly committed to the ethos and practices of Catholic Education and who possess a genuine desire to support the holistic development of young people, are invited to apply for 2026 Relief (casual) Teacher Assistant opportunities. As a Teacher Assistant at St Patrick’s College you will deliver quality educational support to students to enable enhanced learning outcomes. You will provide support to teachers in the delivery of defined educational programs and activities and interventions for students, with particular emphasis on students with additional needs.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and in accordance with the Tasmanian Catholic Education Single Enterprise Agreement 2024.

About You

As a Relief Teacher Assistant, you will:

  • Have the ability to relate to students with varying needs
  • Have the ability to effectively support teachers in delivering student-focused learning outcomes.
  • Have strengths in fostering innovation, creativity, and a passion for learning within students.
  • Able to perform effectively in environments with competing demands
  • A commitment to encourage excellence in academics, co-curricular, personal development and an educational journey that empowers personal student successes.
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills to support students with their learning.
  • High standards of professionalism, personal integrity, discretion, and resilience.
  • Ability to effectively interact and maintain professional relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and the broader College community.
  • Flexible in your availability, with casual relief hours available within school hours (8:30- 3:20), Monday to Friday, with the potential to be involved in other school activities such as excursions and camps.

About Us

St Patrick’s is a Catholic co-educational Year 7-12 college of approximately 1,500 students with a strong academic culture that encourages individual students to develop to their full potential through a broad educational experience. The College is structured into a three school model of learning, incorporating the Middle School (Years 7 and 8), Croagh Patrick (Year 9) and Senior School (Years 10-12).
