The Role
The Student Support Officer works closely with the Student Services team to assist with systems and processes that support students, staff and parents, ensuring a responsive and effective student support service. The successful applicant should collaborate with staff, parents/guardians, and relevant community organisations, and may assist with school attendance strategies.
School staff benefit from working in a collaborative team environment, sharing common goals and resources in supporting students, schools and parents. Applicants that have skills in maintaining professional boundaries while adopting a student centric approach that aids in contributing to positive student outcomes will be highly regarded.
Ideally, the successful applicant will have experience within Student Services contexts and have an understanding of how they have supported students, families and relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Knowledge of Compass and an understanding of case work and record keeping responsibilities and skills would be beneficial to the role. Further to this, examples of positive outcomes of their practice will be advantageous.
