This is a progressional position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the lower classification with eligibility for progression to the next, once specific criteria have been met or demonstrated. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of both classification ranges.
About Us:
The Student Wellbeing Workforce aims to ensure every Queensland primary and secondary state school student has access to a wellbeing professional at school. The focus of the role is to provide support for students with mild to moderate mental health concerns. Wellbeing professionals employed through the Student Wellbeing Workforce program work as part of schools' established student support teams to enhance the wellbeing and mental health support available to students.
About the Role:
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
- Provide individual and group counselling, professional assessments, interventions and follow-up support for students, parents/carers and families to address personal, social and relationship concerns.
- Identify needs and coordinate referrals and service planning with internal supports and external health and welfare agencies.
- Strengthen school-community partnerships by acting as a key contact for parents/carers, promoting engagement, and supporting participation in school programs and activities.
- Plan, deliver and evaluate programs, presentations and responses that address social issues, support student wellbeing, and assist school communities during critical incidents and emergencies.
- Maintain confidential records and data systems, and contribute as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting schools, families and interagency networks.

This is a school-based position and travel may be a required element of the role.
Students currently completing their studies are also welcome to apply but will not be interviewed until their university course is completed.
