Your Role

We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Senior Education Officer, Autism to join the South East Region Student Services team.

This role leads strategic, collaborative and evidence-based initiatives to improve outcomes for autistic students through intensive capability building and instructional leadership.

Working closely with school leaders, and educators, you will support the implementation of evidence-based practices by delivering targeted coaching informed by data, research and best practice.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading strategic autism capability-building initiatives across schools and early years settings.
  • Delivering high-impact professional learning, coaching and modelling to strengthen the use of evidence-based practices.
  • Partnering with school leaders and educators to support evidence-based inclusive education practices.
  • Providing expert advice on behaviour, engagement and support planning for autistic students.
  • Using data and evidence to evaluate practice, identify needs and drive continuous improvement across the region.

About You:

  • A strong instructional leader with deep knowledge of autism, evidence-based practices and inclusive education.
  • Skilled in building capability, coaching others and influencing schoolwide improvement.
  • Collaborative, reflective and able to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communicator who builds trust and engages diverse stakeholders.
  • Able to analyse data, translate research into practice and lead change with integrity.

Mandatory requirements:

  • Current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration.
  • A valid Working with Children Check (Blue Card) may be required where applicable.
  • Eligibility for employment within the Queensland Department of Education.
