SEN Teaching Assistant (KS2)

Contract: Full-Time | Term Time Only

About the Role

A friendly and inclusive primary school in Poulton-le-Fylde is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils within Key Stage 2 (KS2) from September.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with children who require additional support, providing both 1:1 and small group assistance to help them access the curriculum and thrive in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for KS2 pupils with Special Educational Needs
• Deliver small group interventions to support academic and social development
• Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
• Support pupils with needs such as ASD, ADHD, and SEMH
• Work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to adapt learning materials
• Promote positive behaviour and engagement in lessons
• Support the overall wellbeing and development of pupils

Requirements

• Experience working with children, ideally in a school or SEN setting
• Understanding of KS2 curriculum
• Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Desirable

• Experience supporting SEN pupils in KS2
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant qualification)
• Knowledge of intervention strategies and behaviour support
