We are seeking an outstanding and enthusiastic educator to join our TAS Faculty as a TAS Teacher, commencing Term 1, 2027. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated teacher to contribute to a collaborative and high-performing faculty that values practical learning, innovation and student engagement. The successful applicant will inspire students through hands-on and theory-based learning experiences while supporting the development of practical, creative and problem-solving skills. Applications are invited from educators across all TAS disciplines, including Design, Engineering, Industrial Technology and Computing. The ability and willingness to teach across a variety of these disciplines will be highly regarded.
This is a Permanent Full-Time teaching position commencing 27 January 2027.
Job Description
The TAS Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning programs within the TAS Faculty, supporting students to develop practical skills, technological understanding and creative thinking. Working collaboratively with colleagues within the Faculty and across the College, the successful applicant will contribute to curriculum development, assessment practices, student achievement initiatives and the broader co-curricular life of the College. The successful applicant will be an excellent classroom practitioner with strong interpersonal skills, a commitment to evidence-informed practice and the ability to create engaging learning experiences that foster student success.
Desired Skills and Experience
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
- A working understanding of, and commitment to, the Catholic ethos of a School in the Edmund Rice tradition.
- Demonstrated understanding of appropriate behaviours and professional boundaries that reflect child safeguarding values in practice.
- Qualified to teach TAS subjects (Stage 4–6) with NESA Accreditation and approval to teach in NSW.
- Strong curriculum knowledge and a commitment to evidence-informed teaching and learning.
- Effective classroom management skills, including the ability to establish clear expectations and foster a positive learning environment.
- The ability to differentiate curriculum and learning experiences to meet the needs of a diverse range of learners.
- The ability to effectively integrate ICT into teaching, learning and assessment.
- Exceptional communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build productive relationships with students, staff and families.
- A willingness to contribute to the co-curricular life of the College.
Highly Desirable
- Experience teaching one or more of the following subjects: Design and Technology, Industrial Technology (Timber, Multimedia and Engineering), Food Technology, Engineering Studies, Computing Technology and Enterprise Computing.
- Experience teaching Stage 6 TAS courses.
- Experience using student achievement data to inform teaching practice and support improvement initiatives.
- Recent graduates and final-year teaching students completing their internship are encouraged to apply.
