Science Technician - Secondary School | Tower Hamlets

Salary: £115-120 per day

Location: Tower Hamlets, East London

Contract Type: Full-time, Term time only

Start Date: April/May 2026

The Role:

As a Science Technician, you will provide essential support to the Science Department, ensuring that lessons and practical activities run smoothly and effectively. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for science to play a key part in delivering high-quality education to students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and set up science experiments, demonstrations, and equipment for lessons
• Organize and maintain the science laboratories, ensuring all health and safety regulations are followed
• Assist teaching staff with the creation and storage of resources and teaching materials
• Provide technical support and advice to both students and teachers during practical lessons
• Maintain stock levels of chemicals, equipment, and resources, and reorder supplies as necessary
• Ensure the safe storage and disposal of materials in compliance with health and safety guidelines

About You:

We're looking for a motivated, enthusiastic individual who:

• Holds a Science Degree or other relevant qualification
• Lab based experience, ideally in a school
• Has strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
• Can work effectively as part of a team and communicate well with staff and students
• Demonstrates a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety
• Previous experience as a Science Technician is desirable, but not essential
