This is a permanent part-time (0.9FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2026

Aveley Secondary College (SC) opened in 2018 and is a large secondary school catering for Year 7-12 in Perth’s Swan Valley. The College is recognised as a school of choice with high expectations and standards, a progressive approach and a commitment to excellence.

Teaching and learning at the College is a focus (with Explicit Direct Instruction the signature pedagogy) supported by a rigorous behaviour curriculum and systems to support conditions for learning in the classroom. Teachers are supported by professional development and coaching in these key areas. Aveley SC's collaborative approach to pedagogy has been recognised as best practice through the Grattan Institute and teaching staff have been filmed by the Australian Education Research Organisation (AERO) as examples of best practice. A central feature of the college is strong teams with an extensive repertoire of curriculum resources. As alumni of the Fogarty EDvance program, the school has visitors from across the state and country visiting our classrooms to see our teachers in action. Most recently the school is in the finals of the 2025 WA Education Awards. Our teachers are our best asset.

The Role

Aveley SC is seeking an experienced, dedicated and proactive School Psychologist to join our highly collaborative and student-focused team. The successful applicant will work closely with the College Leadership Team and sub-school teams to support the wellbeing, engagement, and educational outcomes of all students.

The School Psychologist provides specialist psychological expertise to assess, case formulate, and develop targeted interventions that address the needs of individual students, groups, and the broader school community. This includes delivering services in adolescent mental health, behaviour and engagement, wellbeing for learning, emergency incident response, and professional learning for staff, parents, and caregivers.

We are seeking an adaptable, resourceful, and resilient practitioner who can build and maintain strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. The successful applicant will be able to work both independently and collaboratively, contributing to well-established college priorities such as the Learning Support Team, Attendance Team, and Student Services case management processes.

At Aveley SC, you will join a motivated and innovative team of educators and support staff who are committed to creating a safe, supportive, and high-performing learning environment for all students.
