We are seeking to establish a pool of School Officers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Joondalup ESC is an Independent Public School providing specialist and individualised educational programs for students from Kindergarten to Year 6 with intellectual disabilities and special educational needs.
Dedicated staff teach a range of quality programs which are specialised, individualised, and specifically tailored to each student's individual needs and abilities. Teachers and Education Assistants are highly trained and competent to support students with intellectual disability, sensory impairment, physical disabilities, challenging behaviour, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Classrooms have a high ratio of staff to students, and classroom numbers are kept small to ensure that each child is given every opportunity to succeed.

The Role
Suitable applicants would work as part of a dedicated team and have the opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting contribution to our school community. Serving as a point of contact for staff and students in our administrative office, you will need to be well-organised, approachable, and capable of prioritising tasks effectively. You would also support and mentor other support staff and liaise with staff and students to ensure the delivery of excellent office support services. Experience with RM Billing, RM Finance, Compass, and MS Office suite is highly desirable. Ideal applicants will have prior experience in providing efficient customer service, with strong computer proficiency across various software applications, including databases, spreadsheets, and word processing. A willingness to learn new systems and procedures is advantageous. Experience in media, marketing, or communications will be considered an asset.
The role includes the following duties:
- Providing high-level clerical and administrative support to the Principal, Associate Principals, and Manager of Corporate Services, including managing diaries, scheduling meetings, handling emails, and other communication tasks.
- Under the direction of the Principal, liaising with staff, visitors, and members of the community on a range of school-related matters.
- Maintaining an organised management and filing system for correspondence, corporate information, and records related to projects, initiatives, committees, and other activities.
- Supporting the development, implementation, and management of the school’s marketing plan.
- Assisting with the creation and production of printed and digital materials to promote school events and initiatives, including maintenance of the school website.
- Contributing to editing and proofreading publications and media communications, ensuring compliance with Departmental policies and guidelines.
- Supporting the preparation of submissions and applications for awards and recognitions.
- Gathering and publishing news items, photographs, and videos in alignment with the school’s marketing plan and communication standards.
- Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with media outlets and other key stakeholders both internally and externally.
- Assisting the school leadership team in coordinating internal and external communication activities.

- Demonstrated good interpersonal skills and ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment.
