About the opportunity
In this position you will be responsible for:
- Providing operational support and advice on a diverse range of matters
- Developing and/or administering library processes and procedures and responding to inquiries
- Reviewing and developing local systems and providing recommendations for enhancement
- Monitoring service delivery to identify efficiencies and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, directives, policies, and standards
- Search and verify bibliographical data where some discretion and judgement are involved
- Copy catalogue books, magazines, journals and recorded material where some discretion and judgement are involved
- Maintain circulation systems where some discretion and judgement are involved
- Assist students and teachers to use the library catalogue and locate relevant materials e.g. password access to on-line data bases
- Respond to enquiries from staff, students, parents and the general public and address issues in accordance with routines, methods and procedures.
- Assist in the demonstration of complex audio visual or computer equipment under supervision of academic staff member(s) where some discretion and judgement are involved.
- Supervising and training support staff as required.
About you
To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:
- Strong operational support and advisory skills
- Ability to develop, administer, and refine library processes and procedures
- Experience in reviewing systems and recommending improvements within a library
- Knowledge of service delivery monitoring and compliance with relevant legislation and policies
- Experience in supervising and training support staff effectively
- For this position you are not required to be Catholic.
Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:
- Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
- Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement.
