About the opportunity

Trinity College, Beenleigh is seeking a School Officer to provide essential classroom support in our Industrial Technologies program, helping students thrive in practical learning. Assist students using trade skills to support safe workshop learning, guide practical tasks, maintain organised spaces and enhance Industrial Technologies lessons.

In this position you will be responsible for:

  • Assessing and monitoring the progress of students and identify learning areas to provide evidence-based intervention strategies for students requiring additional learning scaffolding, including students with learning disabilities
  • Assisting in the development of varying teaching methods, materials, and assessments to cater to the diverse learning styles and abilities within the classroom
  • Assist students using trade skills to support safe workshop learning, guide practical tasks, maintain organised spaces and enhance Industrial Technologies lessons
  • Gathering insights into students' individual needs and develop appropriate strategies to improve student learning outcomes
  • Collaborating with school specialists in organising and assisting with intervention groups to coordinate services
  • Ensuring overseas student’s families are provided with information on the school's enrolment requirements, application procedures, and any documentation, addressing any queries or concerns.

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:

  • Experience assessing and monitoring student progress to identify areas for targeted intervention
  • Exposure to creating diverse teaching methods and assessments to accommodate various learning styles
  • Skilled in developing strategies to enhance student learning outcomes based on individual needs
  • Trade or workshop experience supporting woodwork, metalwork or similar practical learning environments
  • Confidence in using tools and machinery safely in a school workshop setting
  • Ability to guide studets through hand-on tasks with patience and clear instruction
  • Strong organisational skills to maintain a safe, tidy, and well prepared workshop spaces
  • Experience in collaborating with specialists to address student needs
  • Knowledge about the specific needs for First Nations and international students including cultural considerations
  • Certificate III in Education Support
  • For this position you are not required to be Catholic.

Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:

  • Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
  • Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement.
