About the opportunity

This role is focused on working with children to support learning and positive behaviour. The successful applicant will work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to assist students in engaging with their learning programs and developing appropriate social and behavioural skills.

In this position you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting with the planning, preparation and delivery of effective learning and teaching programs for students including the use technology and learning support activities
  • Monitoring the progress of students and identifing learning areas to provide evidence-based intervention strategies
  • Improving student learning outcomes by providing support and advice on supporting students with diverse learning needs
  • Collaborating with school specialists in organising and assisting with intervention groups to coordinate services
  • Documenting observation notes, intervention programs and assist in the collation and preparation of classroom materials.

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:

  • Experience working with children in an educational or care setting
  • Skills in supporting student learning, engagement, and behaviour
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to inclusive practices and student wellbeing Strong skills in planning, preparing, and delivering effective teaching programs
  • Ability to monitor student progress and apply evidence-based interventions
  • Expertise in supporting diverse learning needs to improve student outcomes
  • Collaborative skills to work with specialists and coordinate intervention groups
  • Proficient in documenting observations, managing intervention programs, and preparing classroom materials
  • Certificate III in Education Support
  • For this position you are not required to be Catholic.

Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:

  • Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
  • Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement.
