Summary
Use your expertise to advise on and manage the school’s risk and compliance systems to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.

- Salary: School Officer Level 5 - $39.44/hour + super

About the opportunity
In this position you will be responsible for:
- Overseeing the development, maintenance and operations of relevant systems and resources and recommending improvements to processes and procedures.
- Developing and interpreting legislation, regulations, procedures and other guideline material relating to operations within the school.
- Delivering and advising staff, students, and the school community on policy updates and publishing via appropriate channels.
- Facilitating the completion and report on risk and compliance tasks through the appropriate avenues
- Advising and facilitating the conduct of risk assessments by responsible staff members for school events.
You will also undertake responsibilities as a WHS Officer which include but are not limited to:
- Implementing communication and consultation initiatives and awareness of WHS requirements
- Assisting in the investigation of HSW issues or incidents across schools
- Assisting in the development and review of Health and Safety requirements and associated documentation for schools
- Consulting with management and stakeholders on their schools (or office) WHS performance
- Assist in the identification and management of risk
- Assist in health and safety consultation activities
- Conduct and assist workers to conduct regular health and safety inspections and risk assessments
- Investigate health and safety incidents and dangerous events to prevent recurrence.
About you
To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:
- Expertise in developing, maintaining, and improving operational systems and processes.
- Strong understanding of legislation, regulations, and guidelines to interpret and apply within a school setting.
- Ability to communicate policy updates clearly to a wide variety of groups and stakeholders.
- Experience in managing and reporting on risk and compliance tasks effectively.
- Skilled in advising and facilitating risk assessments for events.
- Tertiary qualification at Associate Diploma/Diploma in a related field
- For this position you are not required to be Catholic.
Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:
- Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
- Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement.
