About this role – Principal
As Principal, you will provide both educational and administrative leadership to Nhulunbuy Christian College, guiding staff, students and families within a Christ-centred environment.
You will work closely with the CEO and fellow Principals as part of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to a collaborative and transparent organisational culture while providing strong leadership at the College.
This role is an opportunity for a relational and strategic leader who is passionate about Christian education, academic excellence and community engagement and who wants to make a meaningful contribution to students, families and the wider Nhulunbuy community.

NT Christian Schools exists to advance the Christian religion through the provision of education and religious instruction. For the purposes of upholding the Christian ethos of our schools, it is a genuine occupational qualification of this role that applicants be able to teach religious education, lead, and otherwise assist in, religious practices and observances and personally adhere to, uphold, and authentically model the religious beliefs of NT Christian Schools.
Key Responsibilities
As Principal, you will:
- Provide educational, spiritual and administrative leadership across the College.
- Lead and oversee the College Executive and overall school operations.
- Provide leadership for the delivery of high-quality, Christ-centred curriculum and teaching.
- Collaborate with the CEO, Senior Leadership Team and Board to strengthen culture, curriculum and educational outcomes.
- Drive academic performance and student achievement across the College.
- Foster successful student transitions into Years 11 and 12 within the NT Christian Schools network.
- Build strong and productive partnerships with students, parents, staff and the wider community.
- Lead staff development, performance management and pastoral care.
- Oversee financial operations and contribute to strategic planning.
- Support and report to the School Council and Board through the CEO.
- Represent and promote Nhulunbuy Christian College within the local community and broader region.
- Actively contribute to and lead the spiritual life of the College.
- Ensure College operations align with the mission, vision and strategic priorities of NT Christian Schools.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, including staffing, compliance and marketing.
- Teach in the classroom as required.
About You
You are a faith-driven, relational and strategic educational leader who is committed to Christian education and achieving excellent learning outcomes for students.
You will bring:
- A committed Christian faith and active involvement in a local church.
- Proven experience in Christian education and school leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and improve educational outcomes.
- Strong leadership, organisational and decision-making capabilities.
- Experience in staff leadership, development and performance management.
- The ability to contribute effectively within a collaborative leadership team.
- Excellent relationship-building, communication and negotiation skills.
- Experience leading curriculum aligned with the Australian Curriculum from a biblical perspective.
- Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
Desirable
- Experience as a Principal or in a similar senior educational leadership position.
- Experience working within Christian education and/or executive leadership teams.
- Familiarity with Technology One, Canvas, Compass, Edval or similar systems.
- Master of Education or willingness to undertake further study.
- Certificate of Christian Education.
Requirements
- Valid Working with Children (Ochre) Card.
- Current NT Police Check (within the previous 12 months).
- Registration with the NT Teacher Registration Board.
- Current NT Driver’s Licence or ability to obtain one.
