THE ROLE
We are searching for an experienced Performing Arts teacher to join our team. At Newmark Primary we believe that the arts help us to express and evoke emotions, to make powerful statements and to convey important messages. - Job Title: Performing Arts Teacher
- Time Fraction: 0.6 Part-time (3 days a week)
- Commencement Date: 27th January 2026
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Performing Arts, which will include:
- Planning and implementing the Performing Arts program based on the Australian Curriculum which includes music, dance and drama for Foundation to Year 6.
- Using summative and formative assessment strategies to inform teaching from Foundation to Year 6.
- Providing summative feedback to families based goals and growth.
- Contributing to whole school wellbeing initiatives and programs through the inclusion of music, dance and drama.
- Assisting with music, dance and drama during whole school gatherings and events.
- Designing and implementing lunchtime clubs that involve Performing Arts.
- Assisting teachers with incorporating Performing Arts as part of the learning units, as required.
- Building networks with experts and activators in Performing Arts fields.
- Working in collaboration with other Specialist teachers and experts.
- Managing the Performing Arts budget and resources.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will demonstrate the capacity to:
- Work collaboratively across teams.
- Find solutions to problems.
- Contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
- Seek and use feedback to improve performance.
- Organise self, others and resources.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
- Current VIT registration
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Experience in Performing Arts
