Gilmore College is seeking a skilled Media and Communications Officer to support the development and delivery of high-quality marketing, communications and promotional content across the school community.

The Role
As the Media and Communications Officer, you will play a key role in promoting the school’s identity and achievements. You should have a strong interest in social media and be confident in creating a range of communication materials to support marketing activities, events and whole-school initiatives. The role includes maintaining and updating the school’s website, social media channels and related software to ensure content is accurate, current and engaging.
The successful applicant will ideally build and maintain positive relationships with print and digital media outlets, as well as key internal and external stakeholders. You will actively seek opportunities to enhance the school’s online presence and extend the reach of our communications within the school community and through our Alumni network.
We are seeking someone who is ideally highly organised, detail-oriented and able to work both independently and collaboratively. You should be confident in photography and video production, and in managing a large image library. Experience in graphic design and the use of Adobe software such as InDesign, Canva, Illustrator and Photoshop will be highly regarded.
This position works closely with the Administration and Executive teams to ensure brand consistency and to support the development and production of publications, promotional materials and policy documents.

- Demonstrated experience within a journalism environment, including use of photographic equipment and writing for a range of audiences in a range of styles and formats.
- Demonstrated excellent written communication skills, including the ability to generate accurate, tightly written, clean copy and to proofread and edit material for publication and media liaison.
- Demonstrated research, investigation and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment to meet conflicting timeframes.
- Demonstrated well developed interpersonal and negotiation skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with individuals at all levels.
