The International French School of Sydney is looking for an experience Learning Support Teacher to join the team on a permanent and full time basis.

This is an Ongoing, Full-time role starting on 1 August 2026.
The Learning Support Teacher supports the continuation of learning and promotes the academic success of students with diverse needs from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12. You will work in both our Primary and Secondary Divisions directly with students and in close contact with colleagues. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinating management of students with diverse learning needs (including disabilities and learning difficulties), including collaboration with parents, our teachers, and school administration
- Providing support to colleagues for the analysis and management of student learning progress (including observation in classes, consultations, answering colleagues’ enquiries)
- Contributing to identifying any special educational needs of students and encouraging as much as possible the implementation of differentiated and adapted teaching strategies
- Conducting training sessions and coordinating relevant documentation to support colleagues

- Remuneration as per the Independent Schools NSW/ACT industrial agreement (Annual full time base between a minimum of $94 155 AUD and a maximum of $133 009 AUD, depending on qualifications and experience)
About the ideal candidate:
- Excellent communication skills in French and English, and an ability to communicate in a modern, relatable style
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and previous experience in a similar role supporting students with diverse needs
- Sound knowledge and understanding of current teaching and learning theory and practices, and the ability to differentiate for learners with diverse needs
- Capacity to be flexible, resourceful, meet deadlines, and works as part of a collaborative team
- Experience in the administration and analysis of standardised and diagnostic assessments to inform individual planning
- Experience working collaboratively to write and manage Individualised Plans for students
- Ability to identify and implement evidence-based strategies for identified students to improve the their learning outcomes, with a focus on literacy and numeracy
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with people at all levels, with diverse backgrounds and of varying ages
