Hourly rate ranging from $33.06 - $43.23 depending on qualifications & experience
St Brigid's Catholic Primary School, Coonamble is seeking an experienced Learning Support Officer to join the team on a temporary, part-time basis.
About the Role
St Brigid's Catholic Primary School, Coonamble is seeking a passionate Learning Support Officer to join the team, commencing Term 1, 2026. As a Learning Support Officer, you will be responsible for supporting classroom teachers by delivering targeted, high-quality assistance in reading, writing, and mathematics. Your focus will be working 1:1 or in small groups with students who need extra support, helping to build their confidence, skills, and independence.
Key responsibilities:
- Promote and embody the Vision and Mission of Catholic education in the Diocese.
- Support students’ spiritual growth and foster a respectful, inclusive school culture.
- Assist students develop their literacy, numeracy, social and integration skills.
- Develop programs for use in the learning support centre.
- Performing clerical duties as required in the Inclusive Education area.
- Work with students on a 1:1 or group basis to meet the individual needs of the student.
- Work with teachers in order to meet the specific needs of individual students.

About You
We are looking for someone who can address the following criteria:
- Holds a Certificate III in Education Support or equivalent (desired)
- A valid Working with Children Check
- Understanding of Child Protection principles and relevant policies
- Knowledge of literacy and numeracy instructional strategies
- Familiarity with the Disability Standards of Education
- Commitment to the mission and ethos of Catholic education
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit
