Domremy College is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified Learning Support Officer for a temporary 1 year contract commencing Term 1, 2026.
The role of Learning Support Officer is to assist in the provision of education and pastoral care for students from Years 7 to 12 with a wide range of learning abilities. The Learning Support Officer works collaboratively with the Leader of Diverse Learning. As a member of Domremy College, the role requires a commitment to Catholic education, a clear understanding of the ethos of Catholic Schools and a willingness to contribute to the faith formation of students.
Key Selection criteria
The successful candidate will be able to:
- demonstrate experience implementing adjustments for students with a range of diverse learning needs to enhance learning growth across all KLAs
- collaboratively and collegially work as a member of the Diverse Learning team
- provide in class support to students who have a mild to moderate cognitive disability
- collect data and evidence to support NCCD requirements and an understanding of relevant legislation (DDA, DSE)
- administer one on one and small group interventions to students with a diverse range of learning abilities
- administer a range of standardised assessments
- knowledge of the Quicksmart Program preferred
- maintain school based data and records upholding confidentiality
- use and integrate technology across a wide range of administrative and curriculum applications. into everyday learning and planning.
Formal Qualifications
- relevant qualifications and/or experience as a Learning Support Officer/Teacher's Aide is essential.
