About Our School
Our Lady of Mercy Catholic College Burraneer is the only 7-12 Girls Secondary College in the Sutherland Shire. Our modern campus overlooks Burraneer Bay and the Royal National Park, providing a tranquil backdrop for learning in a vibrant educational and faith community.
We require a Laboratory Assistant to join us in a permanent, part time position commencing Term 3 (Monday, 20 July 2026). The hours of work can be flexible and we are happy to negotiate with the right candidate.

About You
Our Lady of Mercy Catholic College Burraneer is seeking an enthusiastic and suitably experienced Laboratory Assistant who is passionate about science to support our science faculty. Responsible to the Leader of Learning Science, the Laboratory Assistant maintains adequate operational systems and oversees the effective day-to-day running of science resources. The position is responsible for providing a safe teaching and learning environment and ensures administrative tasks are completed. You must be able to demonstrate:
- the capacity to safely and effectively prepare science practicals and experiments
- the ability to use RiskAssess and be able to accurately assess risk assessments
- the ability to use Chemwatch or be willing to learn
- a sound understanding of Workplace Health and Safety requirements including the safe management, storage, handling and labelling of hazardous material
- the capacity to work collaboratively as part of a team and at times autonomously
- a willingness to undergo any relevant training appropriate for the role
- commitment to supporting a positive religious and cultural Catholic School environment.
