The Role

As a key member of the leadership team, you will work closely with the Principal to articulate a clear vision for the English team in line with established whole-school vision and approaches. You would support teachers to strengthen their pedagogical breadth so they can deliver dynamic and engaging learning at the guided, supported, and independent practice stages. You will ideally develop others by mentoring your team with clear feedback and consistent follow-through. In balancing support with accountability, you will ideally maintain a focus on improving student outcomes. As a leader, you would understand and implement culturally responsive practices and lead the implementation of these with the English team.

In your capacity as curriculum leader, experience in teaching ATAR level courses, or equivalent, and programming School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) aligned curriculum across contexts is highly regarded. Additionally, applicants with experience or knowledge in implementing the revised Western Australian curriculum for English would be highly regarded. Strong data literacy to analyse assessment information, guide improvements in teaching and learning and support staff to implement effective teaching and assessment cycles will also be beneficial.
