Rosebank College has a proud and varied history of over 150 years as part of the Good Samaritan family established in 1857, and belonging to the Benedictine spiritual and educational tradition founded by St Benedict in the 4th century. The College belongs to the community of ten schools across Australia called Good Samaritan Education (GSE). Established in 2011 by the Sisters of the Good Samaritan, the mission of Good Samaritan Education is to sustain and nurture our Catholic schools as Good Samaritan Benedictine communities of learning.

About the Role
A school of Good Samaritan Education, Rosebank College seeks expressions of interest for the position of Grounds and Maintenance Officer to join the Facilities Team in this Permanent (part -time) position. This role is required to work two days per week and the days per week will be negotiated with the Facilities Manager. The Grounds and Maintenance Officer is accountable to the Dean of Finance through the Facilities Manager.
This position is a part-time position 40 weeks per year and only required to work during term time.
Commencing from 20 January 2026 (negotiable), the Grounds and Maintenance Officer plays a key role in the efficient and effective operation of the College by providing high level care of the school facilities and grounds. Tasks can vary between addressing immediate maintenance and safety concerns, basic works projects and scheduled maintenance tasks and procedures.
This role works both autonomously and collaboratively with all internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate is an effective team player; can manage competing priorities; can exercise initiative to operate with limited direction and is able to represent the College to internal and external stakeholders with a spirit of excellence always representing the Good Samaritan and Benedictine values.
This role also plays a significant role in promoting the College to wider community. This is an exciting opportunity for a well organised, skilled professional to join the Rosebank Team. This position is hands-on and will allow the right candidate to be exposed to various areas across the College.

About You
The successful candidate has proven experience working in a similar position and is highly motivated to support Rosebank College. It is an expectation that all staff support the vision and goals of the College as a learning community and contribute to all aspects of College life. All staff are required to demonstrate a commitment to the ideals and ethos of Catholic Education.
To be considered for this position, you must meet the following criteria:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar position;
- Experience in a school environment or independent school setting (preferable but not essential);
- Driver’s Licence;
- Experience in carrying out semi-skilled maintenance tasks in carpentry, painting, electrical and plumbing work;
- Experience and confidence in using a range of tools to carry out simple repairs;
- Ability to operate a range of machinery;
- An understanding that lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying items within reasonable limits is required, and the ability to carry this out;
- Ability to work as part of a team;
- Sound interpersonal and communication skills;
- Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships across the school community;
- Proven capacity to work independently;
- Sound organisational skills including strong attention to detail;
- Possess a valid Working with Children Check (or be willing to obtain one);
- A commitment to the child safeguarding principles.
