Job Title: Finance Officer (Maternity Cover)

Location: London, Lewisham Position: Full-time, 5 days a week Contract: Maternity cover Start Date: To be confirmed Interview Date: Monday next week

Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and qualified Finance Officer to join a dynamic school team for a maternity cover role. The ideal candidate will have relevant finance qualifications and a solid understanding of finance processes. While experience working in schools is preferred, we are open to applicants with a strong finance background who are eager to adapt to school-specific systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage purchase ledgers, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
• Oversee and maintain accurate financial records.
• Assist with monthly and annual financial reporting.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Process and reconcile financial transactions.
• Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure financial compliance.
• Learn and adapt to school financial systems and procedures.

Requirements:

• Finance qualifications (e.g., AAT, degree in finance or equivalent).
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Experience working with purchase ledgers is essential.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn new systems and adapt to a school environment.
• Previous experience in a school finance role is desirable, but not essential.
