About You
As an English Teacher, you will inspire students through engaging, student-centered teaching within a Catholic learning environment. The English Department at Freeman has maintained a long history of academic excellence, particularly in the HSC. Continued learning growth, state rankings, and excellence in teaching and learning characterises the culture of the College, but particularly the English team. The successful candidate would be joining a collaborative and hard working team, contributing to a dynamic faculty, with opportunities for further growth as an educator. Our department has a great love of literature, and inspires students to develop the same passion. As an English Teacher, you work to ensure every student reaches their full potential through high-quality, collaborative and engaging pedagogy. The opportunity to apply for the 1 point Literacy Coordinator is also available. You'll bring:
- a commitment to the Catholic ethos of the College, the Catholic Church and the wellbeing of all community members
- knowledge and understanding of contemporary pedagogical practices
- ability to create and implement engaging, rigorous planned learning experiences catering to the diverse needs of students
- the experience and qualifications to teach English. The ability to teach Advanced and Extension English is advantageous

- formative and summative assessments to drive student progress
- a data-informed approach to setting challenging learning objectives and providing constructive feedback
- inclusive Catholic religious and cultural environment for students
- excellent classroom management skills focused on student well-being
- ability to integrate technology to enhance contemporary learning experiences

- demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team
- a tertiary qualification in Education & NESA accreditation.
